It is my pleasure to introduce the Department of Psychiatry ,Govt medical college, Omandurar Govt Estate ,a hub of academic excellence and compassionate clinical care.
As the Head of Department, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated faculty members and clinicians, who share a common vision: to promote mental health and wellness through education, and service.
Our department offers a comprehensive range of academic programs for undergraduates . Our curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the principles of psychiatry, as well as hands-on training in clinical settings.
Clinical care is the cornerstone of our department’s mission. Our faculty members and residents provide compassionate and evidence-based care to patients with various mental health conditions, from mood and anxiety disorders to psychotic disorders and substance use disorders.We offer a range of treatments like pharmacotherapy ,psychotherapy ,Deaddiction services which includes internet addiction. and Electroconvsive therapy.We have a dedicated 20 bedded Deaddiction ward which caters to the patients needs after detoxification .
As we continue to grow and evolve as a department, we remain committed to our core values of excellence, compassion, and innovation. We strive to create an environment that prepares our students for successful careers in psychiatry.
